Environmental concerns are growing everyday but it seems that the public has yet to act on alleviating it. Instilling the Green habit is a difficult task since a lot of people are hesitant to let go of old habits.

For us parents, we could help mother earth in our own small way by instilling the green habit to our kids while they are still young. Here are some simple ways that we can teach our kids:

Use a glass of water instead of letting tap water run when brushing teeth.

Turn off lights and other appliances when not in use.

Incorporate play activities or games that do not entail the use of electricity in your kids’ daily or weekend activity. Take them to the playground or invite friends over to play in your yard.

Re-use and recycle. Teach kids to choose reusable or durable materials to minimize trash. Segregate trash so they can be recycled into composts or other materials.

Start your own garden. You can give your kids potted plants that they can take care of. I’m pretty sure that they would be amazed at how their plants grow.

We can also encourage other kids in the family to adopt the same habit by hosting a green themed party on the next family occasion. Hopefully, we can build a green community by multiplying our efforts.

We moms are aware of the need to save water at home. More than worrying about how soaring water bills would affect our daily budget, we also worry about how using excess water may result in having only trickles of water coming out of our faucets. When that day comes, we might have to use one of those WeGotPumps water pumps to boost our water supply at home.

It’s never too early to teach our kids the value of saving water. We can start them on the path towards water conservation by telling them to not let the water run while they’re brushing their teeth, for instance. We could also ask them to use a pail of water instead of the hose with running water when watering the plants.

Baby steps will get your kids there. The lessons in conservation you teach them now will be an invaluable gem they will treasure as they grow up.

A good friend of mine mentioned to me once that she wants to make fashionable eco bags made of katsa. I love the idea as I am all for saving the planet. I think it would be great promotional bags for events like summits and conventions but it could be also sold on malls on retail. I have some eco product ideas myself but I will keep it a secret for now…

But what do you think of this plan? Would you buy and use an reusable bag? I know I would but I want to hear from you.
